About Diversity

The concept of Diversity is a vital one to recognise; it is associated with certain core dimensions, such as gender and gender identity, ethnic background, race, sexual orientation, religion and belief, age and generations, and disabilities. There are further aspects to Diversity, including class, education, wealth, political beliefs, and language, to address a few. But one thing is for sure – regardless of our individual experiences of Diversity, we are all people.

However, in recent years Diversity has started to resemble a trendy term for an abstract notion that is more and more separated from individuals and their experiences. Approaches to Diversity have tended to put individuals in boxes, and we feel it is important to move beyond this limited interpretation of the concept. Diversity is becoming a whole new academic field. Consulting agencies and HR experts are also very influential in this area, and we would like to build on this know how whilst expanding it further. Thus, we think it is time to talk to people about Diversity, as we sense there is a global understanding of the importance of this issue, and this is the inspiration behind our mission.
